Greetings

Greetings to everyone,
My name is Becky. I have been going through some life changes lately. With these changes I decided to try to start up this site to tell everyone about my current weight loss success story, and journey. I will eventually have pictures to go along with this. So here it goes.

I am that person that's unhappy, depressed, and over weight. I know I need to go to the gym and exercise and go on a diet but I don't want to. I am the person that kept the fast food restaurants in business. About 5 years ago I thought I would try a gym membership somewhere. I chose 24 hour fitness, that way I would not be able to make up excuses about the hours available to work out and the variety of different locations available.

After I joined 24 hour fitness it lasted about 1 year. I was going about 3-4 times a week. When I was there I would spend about 1/2 hour on the treadmill and then I would go to water aerobics when it was available. That was the maximum of my workout. With time that was getting to be pretty boring so I quit coming. Then I began not to watch what I was eating. In the mean time I have kept up my membership by paying every month. Then thinking plenty of times this is a waste of my money.

I knew at some point in time I would make it back through those doors. I just didn't expect it to take this long. In May of 2008 I decided it was time to do something better for me. So at that point of time I started watching a little bit better what I was eating but that is as far as I got. I could say at this time I was thinking about getting back to the gym. More time passed by now it is almost the end of the summer and I have not made much progress.

Then the Friday before Labor Day August 22,2008, a light bulb just turned on in my head. It is time for a life change for real now. You are going to get on a diet plan and get back to the gym. So come Saturday August 23,2008 I was up early to go to my first weight watcher meeting at 6:30 A.M. Then around 11:30 that day I decided to go back to 24 hour fitness and talk to someone about my membership. At this time I spent about an extra 30 minutes sitting in my car thinking about excuses and better things to be doing with my time. I then proceeded to make it through those big doors. I asked up at the front desk if there was a personal trainer available. This guy (I find out his name is Adam) comes up and asks me how he can help me?

I then begin to tell Adam I want to use the personal trainer visits. I don't know at this point and time what I am able to do physically because of how bad I am out of shape. I have made it through those doors and I am here to get into shape and live a healthier and happier life. I will try anything anything you can think of just show me and be patient with me.

By now I am totally committed to working out and putting all my effort into it. My workouts keep getting better and longer. I am currently at the gym about 5-6 days a week working out. My workouts consist of the basic gym things, water aerobics, swimming, and yoga. I have personal training session about 1 time a week with Adam. I look forward to that 1 personal training day that I can work with Adam; that way he can see how I have improved from the week before. He has mentioned plenty of times how well I am doing and how much better my workouts are. And how much better I look. I have been told I am like the shrinking machine. Whatever you put into your workout is the results you will have.

I am starting to look forward to going to the gym. I also enjoy being at the gym. I used to think to myself, "is it time for me to leave yet?" At this time I have lost a total of 62 pounds since May; 50 of those pounds have been lost during the last 14 weeks that I have been coming to 24 hour fitness and going to Weight Watchers.

What has helped me the most is having Adam as my trainer. He is very motivational and determined for me to pass all my individual goals step by step that I have through this process. All of the other workers are wonderful here also. I could not have done so well without all this support. I now have a new trainer and her name is Jill. I am going to continue my journey in progress with her. I still workout with Adam once in awhile.

Something I read recently hit home with me-:Once you replace negative thought with positive ones, you'll start having positive results". This has become very true for me personally.
